It is possible to claim for anxiety after a car accident. To do this we would obtain a psychiatric report which would detail the anxiety and upset that you have sustained after the accident. In some cases, people can suffer very badly from anxiety and depression after a car accident. We have helped people who have been involved in very serious head on collisions when in their own words “their life has flashed before their eyes” and it has taken them years to properly recover from that. The impact that that has had on their family life, their work and any hobbies they have are very significant. In that case we were able to help that person obtain counselling and a significant sum of compensation for the injuries and upset that they have suffered after that accident. Some people after a car accident find that they are not able to return to work or even leave their home for a period due to the upset that they have had.

Also, it can have an effect on hobbies such as any sporting pursuits or even a simple daily activity such as going for a walk or meeting friends and having a healthy social life. All of these factors will be taken into account and will be included in the report that we obtain from an experienced consultant psychiatrist who will prepare a report detailing what you have had to go through after the accident and will also detail what the recovery period will be. The compensation you will receive will be based on factors like how long it will take you to recover, how serious your upset has been, and the effect on your day to day life such as work and hobbies.

We are experienced in helping people who have been in car accidents and who have suffered mental health difficulties after that. In those cases we try to make it as easy as possible so that you do not feel under more stress in making a compensation claim, we try to make the whole process as hassle free as possible and make it as easy as possible for you to contact us and to pursue a claim for compensation.

Some people suffer in silence after an accident and try to cure those symptoms themselves, or decide that they do not want to claim even though what they are going through has been directly caused by the car accident. They are entitled to make a compensation claim which will at least provide some financial comfort and assistance to them in the future. It will help to deal with any upset and trauma that they have suffered after a car accident.

How Much Of My Compensation Will I Get?

A recent case that we helped with, our client who was struck by another vehicle to the side of his vehicle as he was going around a roundabout. The other vehicle had struck the driver’s side and he saw the other vehicle coming directly towards him. He was very upset after the accident and could not get the image of the headlights of the other vehicle coming directly towards him out of his head. In that case we obtained an orthopaedic report which assisted with showing his physical injuries to their neck and shoulder. We then sent that report to the insurance company and they made an offer of £4,000 in settlement.

It was clear that our client was still suffering badly from psychiatric upset after the accident and had been to his GP a number of times so we obtained a report from a consultant psychiatrist which we also then sent to the insurance company. After they received the psychiatric report they increased the offer to £10,000 in full settlement which our client accepted. He was happy to conclude his case for a total settlement of £10,000.

We always ensure that in any claim for compensation that you are able to keep 100% of your compensation. We do not take any percentage of your compensation claim that you are entitled to. We ensure that you receive 100% of the compensation.

In that case our client received £10,000 and the legal costs and medical reports were paid by the insurance company separately to ensure that our client got his full £10,000 settlement.
